Educational Talent Search

The Educational Talent Search Program identifies youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the desire and the potential for success in post-secondary education. ETS encourages participants to continue and graduate from secondary schools or to return to high school if they have dropped out. The goal of ETS is to have participants enroll in post-secondary education

Target Area:

Educational talent search serves middle and high school students in Travis County.
The following schools are currently being served:

High School

Crockett
LBJ
Manor (Manor ISD)
Travis

Middle Schools

Dobie
Bedichek
Fulmore
Manor (Manor ISD)
Garcia

Participant Eligibility:

Students must be between the ages of 11-27 and have completed the sixth grade. In any given project, two-thirds (2/3) at the participants must be low-income persons who are also potential first generation college students.

Services Provided by ETS:

Middle School: College Awareness, Self-Esteem Development, College Visits & Career Exploration Trips
Nineth Grade: Transition to High School, Study Skills, Time Awareness & Goal Setting
Tenth Grade: Leadership, Cultural Enrichment,& Academic Enrichment
Eleventh Grade: Career Decision Making, College Majors, PSAT Registration, College Admission Process, & Financial Aid and Scholarships
Twelfth Grade: SAT/ACT Registration, college Application Process, Financial Aid Process & Transition From High School to College
