Student Support Services Mission Statement
Student Support Services (SSS) at Texas State University-San Marcos provides academic and educational support services to college students who meet first generation, low income and/or disability criteria, in order to increase retention and graduation rates of participants. SSS fosters an institutional climate supportive of the success of its students through student learning, development and educational experiences.

What is Student Support Services?
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Student Support Services (SSS) is part of the TRIO Programs. The TRIO/Student Support Services program at Texas State University-San Marcos is 100% federally funded at $285,305 annually. Students participating in this program will benefit from the various activities designed to improve their academic performance and enhance their college experience which will ultimately lead to graduation. SSS assists eligible first-generation college students, low income students and students with disabilities from all racial and ethnic backgrounds who have a need for academic and other support services in order to successfully complete their college education. Eligibility Requirements
You may qualify for our services if:
1. You are a first-generation college student (neither parent has a four-year degree) or
2. You meet low income guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Education or
3. You have a documented physical or learning disability on file with the Office of Disability Services or Texas Rehabilitation Commission
But how much will all this cost me?
All services are FREE and are available to students accepted to the program. Participants need only a strong commitment and desire to succeed at Texas State. The services we provide can accelerate students on their way to success.

To apply for services:
All applicants who meet eligibility requirements will be considered for program acceptance. However, our program only admits a limited number of students per year. Students are encouraged to apply prior to or early in the fall semester.
