Becoming a USAC Organization

New Organization Membership Procedures

Requirements to petition for USAC membership

 

  • Organziation must meet the following criteria to be eligible.

- Be registered as a student organization with the office off Campus Activities and Student Organizations (CASO)

- The mission of the Organization must emphasize the promotion of diversity and equal opportunity initiatives in support of a pluralistic society.

  • Organization must recieve a consensus approval from the council to join.

  • Members from petitioning organization must have attended a USAC meeting before petitioning to join.

  • A written proposal must be submitted in advance to the Student Coordinator and Assistant Directors by the close of the business day prior to the meeting. The proposal shall state why the organizations wants to become a member of USAC. This also applies to former member organizations. Former organizations must submit a proposal explaining why they are not currently a member and why they should be reinstated.

  • A copy of the proposal must be provided to each delegate. An oral presentation before the council is required. The council may pose questions to the petitioning group at the time of the presentation. Once the council has reached a decision, the petitioning group will be notified of the results prior to the next meeting.

  • Upon receiving approval to join USAC, all rights and privileges of membership are granted.

  • Any appeals to the decision of USAC should follow the grievance procedures outlined in the USAC constitution.

Any organization requesting re-admittance to USAC may be subjected to stipulations determined by the current council members.
