Student Eligibility

Want to join ETS? Here are the requirements:

  1. You must attend one of the schools ETS is funded to serve.
  2. You must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-resident per federal regulations.
  3. You must be a first-generation college student and/or a student from a low- income household (First generation and low income designations are explained below). Two-thirds of the participants in Talent Search must be both low-income and first-generation. If you are not a potential “first-generation” or “low income” student, please contact the ETS office directly or the advisor at your school for additional qualifying measures.
  4. You must have the desire to graduate from high school and pursue a post-secondary education (a college/university or a technical program). Additionally, we prefer that you have at least a 2.5 GPA.
  5. Complete an ETS application and return it to the ETS advisor on your campus with all necessary documentation. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Definitions:

Citizenship: Student must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen (permanent resident or person in process of becoming a United States citizen) per federal regulations [34CFR643.3 (a)(i-iii)]

Low income:   The supporting parent(s)/guardian(s) taxable income does not exceed the U.S poverty levels by 150 percent.   Students who participate in the Federal Free/Reduced Lunch Program usually qualify.
